What we set without asking

Only what is strictly necessary for the site to work. These do not require consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, because without them the thing you asked for would not function.

All of these are browser storage rather than cookies in the strict sense, which means they are not transmitted with every request. None of them contains your name, phone number or email address other than while you are actively filling in the form on your own device.

What we set only if you accept

If you click "Accept analytics" in the banner, we load Google Analytics. This sets cookies that tell us which pages help people get a quote and which do not.

What we send to Google:

• The page you are on
• Which service was selected
• The postcode district only — SY1, not SY1 1AA
• How far through the form you got
• Device type and traffic source
• Whether photos were attached, and how many

What we never send to Google:

• Your name
• Your phone number
• Your email address
• Your full postcode or address
• Your photographs, or anything from them
• Anything you typed in the notes field

Analytics is not currently configured on this site at all, so accepting will not actually load anything today. The banner is there because it will be, and we would rather ask before than retrofit consent afterwards.

If you reject

Nothing analytics-related loads. No request goes to Google. The site works identically — there is no degraded version and no repeated nagging. We remember your choice so the banner does not come back.

Changing your mind

Clear this site's data in your browser settings and the banner will reappear on your next visit, letting you choose again. In most browsers that is under Settings → Privacy → Cookies and site data, then search for this site.

Third parties

There is no chat widget, no advertising pixel, no social media embed, no font CDN and no third-party video on this site. Fonts are served from our own domain. That is partly a privacy decision and partly because every one of those makes the site slower.

If we ever add a bot-protection widget to the enquiry form, it will be one that does not track people across sites, and this page will be updated to name it.
