Fitter sign-up

For joinery and panelling businesses

If you fit panelling in Shropshire and want enquiries that arrive with a postcode, a photo of the wall and an answer to what is behind it, this is how it works.

What you would get

  • The job postcode, not just a town
  • A photo of the wall on most enquiries, and often a reference image of the look wanted
  • The style, the room, how much of it and what height
  • What the wall is made of — solid, stud, or plasterboard on dabs
  • What is on the wall: sockets, switches, radiator, TV point, coving, window reveal
  • Wall condition, including any history of damp
  • Whether they want it painted, primed or fitted only
  • Rough measurements where they had them
  • Listed status where it is relevant
  • Name, phone and email, with preferred contact method and time

That wall build-up question is there specifically for you. It is the thing that most often turns a straightforward quote into a different job on arrival, and asking it up front saves a wasted visit.

The cap

Every enquiry goes to a maximum of 3 businesses. Not eight. Not "as many as want it".

You have probably paid for leads from services that do not work this way, and you know how it goes: you ring within ten minutes and you are the fourth caller, the customer is already irritated, and the job was priced to the floor before you saw it. That model burns fitters and homeowners at the same time, and it is not one we are interested in running.

We match on capability, not just postcode

Panelling covers a wide spread of work, and sending the wrong enquiry to the wrong business wastes your afternoon. So we record what you actually do:

  • Which styles you fit
  • Whether you build media walls, which means stud work and coordinating an electrician
  • Whether you do heritage and listed-building work
  • Whether you offer painting, or fit only
  • Which postcode districts you genuinely cover

If you never want to see another media wall enquiry, say so and you will not. If listed-building work is your speciality, those are the ones you get.

What we check before sending you anything

  • That the business exists and is who it says it is
  • Current public liability insurance, with the expiry recorded
  • Employer's liability where you employ people
  • That you genuinely work in the districts and styles you claim
  • Any relevant accreditation you tell us about, verified where it is verifiable

We re-check insurance at renewal. If it lapses, enquiries stop until it is back in place. We tell homeowners on this site that we check it, so it has to be true.

What we ask of you

  • Contact an accepted enquiry, and do it promptly
  • Tell us if you cannot take it, so it can go elsewhere quickly
  • Quote your own prices on your own terms — we do not set them and we take no cut of the job
  • Put the quotation in writing, and be explicit about whether painting is in or out
  • Use a qualified electrician for anything notifiable under Part P
  • Do not fix a television to panelling rather than to structure
  • Use moisture-resistant board in bathrooms, and seal the edges
  • Tell the customer honestly when their wall needs looking at rather than quoting blind

We follow up with customers to ask whether they were actually contacted. Businesses that repeatedly accept enquiries then ignore them get removed. That is the only thing that keeps the list worth being on.

Where we need coverage most

Honestly: everywhere, because this is new. Particularly useful right now would be anyone doing genuine heritage and listed-building joinery around Ludlow and south Shropshire, and anyone set up for media wall builds who is comfortable coordinating an electrician.

Also worth hearing from: businesses that offer fitting and painting as one package, because it removes the most common source of confusion in a panelling quote.

Cost

Fitters pay to receive matched enquiries. We would rather discuss specifics with you directly than publish a rate card before we know what coverage and volume look like in your area. There is no charge to apply, no charge to be checked, and no obligation.

How to apply

Email hello@shropshirepanelquotes.co.uk with:

  • Business name and trading name if different
  • Companies House number, or confirmation you are a sole trader
  • Contact name, phone and email
  • The postcode districts you genuinely cover
  • The styles you fit, and whether you do media walls, heritage work and painting
  • A copy of your public liability certificate
  • A few photographs of your own recent work
  • Roughly how much work you are looking to take on

We will come back to you either way. If we are not taking on coverage in your area at the moment, we will say so rather than leaving you wondering.
