One question at a time. A photo of the wall as it is now helps enormously, but the form works without one, and nothing here commits you to anything.

Step 1

Where is the job?

We use this to check coverage and route your enquiry. We do not publish your address, and we do not ask for the house number until a fitter needs it for a visit.

Step 2

What look are you after?

Pick the closest. If you have seen something you like but do not know what it is called, choose the last option and send the picture — that is genuinely the easiest way.

Step 3

Which room, and how much of it?

Room

How much are you panelling?

How high should it go?

Not sure is a perfectly good answer — proportion depends on your ceiling height, and it is the thing most worth getting advice on.

Step 4

Tell us about the wall

This is the part that changes the job most, and the part nobody usually asks about.

What is the wall made of?

Knock on it. A dull, dead sound means solid masonry. Hollow almost everywhere means a stud wall. Hollow in patches with solid spots means plasterboard stuck to masonry.

What is on the wall at the moment?

Tick everything that applies.

What condition is it in?

Wall width and ceiling height is plenty. Entirely optional — do not go and find a tape measure on our account.

Step 5

Show us the wall

Optional, but panelling is a visual job and a photo removes more back-and-forth than any amount of description.

  1. The whole wall, straight on, from as far back as you can get.
  2. Anything on it — sockets, radiator, switches, the window reveal.
  3. A shot along the wall from one corner, which shows how flat it really is.
  4. And the useful one: a picture of the look you are after. A magazine page or a screenshot is perfect.

We resize large photos on your device before uploading, so this works on a slow connection. Photos are stored privately and are never published without your permission.

    Step 6

Finish, timing and where to reach you

How finished do you want it?

Painting is often quoted separately, and the difference between "fitted" and "fitted and painted" is a large part of why two quotes can look nothing alike.

When would you like it done?

    Your details

How would you prefer to be contacted?

A colour you have in mind, a deadline you are working to, access or parking, or anything the photos do not show.
